How is Permanent Pigmentation removed with laser?
We use the Nd:Yag Q-switched laser, commonly used in the industry to remove and lighten tattoos and permanent pigmentation, which can be used to remove images containing dark and red colour pigments. During the removal, the light of the laser is directed through the surface layer of the skin directly to the colour pigment, breaking it into small pieces, after which they are slowly removed from the body through metabolism. At us, all pigmentation/tattoo removals are done by nurse Anna Lahtinen.
Removing permanent pigmentation requires time and patience. The exact number of treatments cannot be said in advance. It is affected by what dyes have been used, how deep the colour is in the skin, when permanent pigmentation was taken, its quality, size and location, as well as the customer's own metabolism. It is good to be prepared for the fact that the number of treatments for the removal of permanent pigmentation can be approximately 2-6 and for the removal of tattoos approximately 6-12. After the treatment, the colour of the tattoo disappears from the area for about 12 weeks, for this reason the next treatment session is only done 3 months after the previous one.

-
The treatment must be without make-up and the skin area to be treated must be absolutely intact.
-
If the skin area to be treated has a lot of hair, shave them the day before (not including eyebrows)
-
Eyebrows may turn white under the influence of laser light, so if you want to colour the eyebrows, the light will not reach them.
-
Laser removal of pigment/tattoos ALWAYS causes a so-called aseptic inflammatory reaction, so it is important that home care instructions are followed. You will receive comprehensive written treatment instructions with you after the first treatment.
Course of treatment
First, a preliminary information form is filled out
The skin area to be treated is cleaned
The effectiveness of the laser treatment is determined
After the procedure, a cold compress is applied to the skin for a while
Recovery from laser treatment
Immediately after the treatment, the treated area will swell and the skin may turn red. However, the swelling goes down on its own and does not need special treatment. Slight heating, itching and peeling of the skin in the treated area is also normal. Part of the laser's energy is converted into heat energy in the tissue, so the surface of the skin warms up and the skin heats up after the treatment. After the laser treatment, it is important to cool the skin area. Effective and sufficiently long-lasting cold treatment helps tissue recovery significantly. It is important to continue the cold treatment started at the reception at home. Our staff guides the implementation of safe cold therapy. The skin area should be protected from the sun for about a month after the laser treatment to prevent hyperpigmentation.
