How do I prepare for mole removal?

Since the mole removal procedure is relatively quick, no special preparations are needed. However, if you are taking blood-thinning drugs or blood-thinning supplements (e.g. Aspirin, Marevan, omega 3), do not take them in the three days before the procedure. The reason for this is that it reduces the risk of bruising. In addition, you can only take a shower the next day after the procedure.

How is a mole removed?

Mole removal at Olga Lensu's reception takes half an hour and the procedure includes anesthesia, the procedure itself and aftercare instructions (you can take these home with you). The specialist doctor examines each mole separately to ensure that the mole is benign. The examination is performed with a dermatoscope.

Only benign moles are treated at the clinic. Moles can be aesthetically disturbing, functional, papules, raised fibromas or stalk moles (papillomas). The consultation costs 50€, but if the mole is removed on the same day, consultation fee is not charged. The consultation fee is also refunded from the mole removal price if you make an appointment for the next time.

Radiofrequency ablation, or cold laser, works with radio waves (frequency 1.5–6.0 MHz) that penetrate the skin. The radio wave removes the mole quickly and painlessly. A cold laser looks like a small loop or needle and it hardly heats up at all. If you are worried that the cold laser will damage your skin, don't worry, because the laser damages the skin very little and the skin heals quickly. The procedure does not leave noticeable scars or marks.

Femina Beauty's guarantee: we will make a free correction if a bump or pigment appears on the the site of the removed mole within two months of the removal.

How do I take care of my skin after mole removal?

If you don't have illness' that weaken your immunity, and you don't use drugs that affect the healing of wounds, skin care after the procedure is very easy.

For the first few days, an antibacterial cream prescribed by the doctor should be used under the patch. Later, you do not need to patch this area unless the mole has been removed from the area rubbed by clothing (in this case, after showering, the patch should be applied for a longer period of time so that the scab does not keep coming off).

In all cases, the removal site should be treated for 3–5 days with anti-inflammatory Bepanthen cream. In addition, for about two months after removal, protection of the area from UV radiation with sunscreen or clothing (also in winter) should be taken into account. The sun can damage sensitive skin and a pigment spot can form on it. Cosmetics can be used as soon as the surface of the skin has completely dried. Usually two days after the procedure.

If you have illness' that weaken your immunity, your doctor will prescribe you medicines that prevent the development of inflammation.
